Important tips to remember when washing or cleaning a woollen rug
When purchasing a woollen rug, it is important to remember that due to the 100% woollen fibres that have been used to create the rug that it will shed. This is by no means a design fault, but is testament to the quality of the wool that has been used.

Some of the woollen fibres tend to come loose, and lie on the surface of the rug. This shedding may last for a number of weeks and can easily be rectified by occasionally lightly hovering the rug.
When it comes to cleaning or washing a 100% woollen rug, it is advisable to occasionally vacuum both sides of the rug. For any stains use an appropriate stain remover, and remember it is always advisable to do a test on a less visible area of the rug. Alternatively, use a clean sponge or a clean white cloth to apply gentle soap suds onto the affected area, wiping the stain gently. Once the stain has been removed from the rug, rinse the area thoroughly.
If a wider area of the rug has been affected, roll the rug in clean dry towels to absorb some of the water. Finally lay the rug out flat to dry in a position out of direct sunlight.
